Yashraj Films production of Pradeep Sarkar’s Laaga Chunari Mein Daag-A Journey of a Woman is facing opposition…opposition to the title. Producer Himanshu Joshi and director Sripati Mishra claim that they registered the title Laaga Chunari Mein Daag for their film first and have filed a legal complaint against Yashraj.

According to Mishra, they registered the title Laaga Chunari Mein Daag with the AMPTPP. Yashraj Films had requested that Bhoomi Shree Pictures allow them to use the title but when refused, they registered Laaga Chunari Mein Daag – The Journey Of A Woman with the Guild.

Mishra went on to say, “Just because Yashraj is a big banner, they can’t do this to us. We have already recorded our songs with Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Richa Sharma. Our story is that about three sisters and we have almost finalized the casting. However, YRF has offered us Rs 1 lakh to give the title to them. But we have refused. The only difference in our titles is that they have added a tagline, ‘journey of a woman’, to it. We are ready to fight a legal battle and will not give away the title so easily. We have sent them a legal notice.”

According to Yashraj sources, no legal notice has been received and that the title has always been Laaga Chunari Mein Daag-A Journey of a Woman, not just Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. The official statement from Yashraj Films is that, “The title of our film is Laaga Chunari Mein Daag-A Journey of a Woman, as approved by the concerned authorities. Our publicity will also have this title as decided. We will not change it.”
