Lara Dutta, who stars alongside Irrfan Khan and Shahrukh Khan in Billu, provides the cover girl image this month for Man’s World. Dressed in a classic skintight, short minidress, Lara forms the basis for an article on the fifteen steps that guys have to take in order to get a date with her. Lara appears to be everywhere at once at the moment, also featuring as cover girl on Maxim and Grazia.
Lara’s image in MW is in stark contrast to the role of a village girl dressed in saris that she essays in Billu. Her role is considered to be one of the highlights of the film. She spoke recently about her admiration for co-star Shahrukh Khan and also, in passing, Akshay Kumar. “I like Shah Rukh for his wit, intelligence, grit and determination, and Akshay for the way he interacts with people. Coming from non-filmi backgrounds, they’ve gained so much knowledge over time,” she said.
Techie freak and Economics graduate, Lara has recently launched her second website for her fans. “I am ecstatic about launching my own platform,” she explains, “It’s a great way for me to keep in touch with my fans and interact with them. The website also incorporates my blog, my personal space, through which my fans can get to know the real me beyond my professional life.”
Lara is next up in Blue, the underwater adventure film with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan.
