Lekha Washington appears to be everywhere these days and capable of doing anything. She’s been a VJ on Connect, the anchor for Sony TV’s IPL cricket coverage and was recently giving an award to Aamir Khan at the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial National Award function.
Her latest movie Jayam Kondam, with Bhavana and Vinay, is due for release and she will soon be seen as the lead actress opposite Jai in Rakozhi. Jai is currently on a roll with the enormous success of Subramaniapuram and Lekha is excited about working with him. “I am just back from a holiday in the UK and have yet to see Subramaniapuram. Everyone is raving about it. And when I read the script for Rakozhi from Pushkar and Gaythri, I was thoroughly impressed.” Rakozhi is a city based film, centred around Chennai’s bubbling nightlife.
Lekha is a fan of all sports and recently attended the National Road Racing Championships at Coimbatore. “I am great lover of sports. Cricket and Formula One are my favourites. It is nice to anchor the motor racing championship as the cars vroom past you in great speed providing as adrenaline-rush show.”
