The famous singer-composer and the very talented Leslie Lewis performed live at Rotaract Club of Usha Pravin Gandhi College’s event ‘Mauj-e-Manch’, in association with the Leo Club of Juhu on 22nd December in Mumbai. Leslie visited this event to judge one of their very important competitions called Mr. And Miss. Mauj-E-Manch, a talent hunt.

Lewis interacted with the children almost on a one on one basis before judging the competition and was astounded by the answers they gave regarding their dreams and aspirations. The children were immensely excited as he stepped on stage to perform for them and kept showering him with song requests. Leslie humbly responded to them and performed more songs than what he had planned to.

He was astonished to see the talent that these children possessed. He said,”I am impressed with how talented these children are and how confidently they present themselves. They are stars even without any professional training and their enthusiasm makes me feel proud to be here.”

Mauj-e-Manch is a cultural festival for the orphaned and underprivileged children of Mumbai—a rare platform for them to show their hidden talents. About 700 children—from five to fifteen years of age—from various shelters participated with all their enthusiasm. The event was also visited by Dolly Bindra.
