They made the number one and number two spots on BollySpice’s ‘Top 5 International films with an Indian flavour’ and now they are strong contenders for this years 85th Academy Award nominations, which were announced today and are due to be held on the 24th February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The films we are talking about are Life of Pi and Silver Linings Playbook, both of which are up for Best film and Best director categories.

For those of you who were upset that Barfi! was not selected for the Best foreign film category, do not despair, as you may still get the chance to see a whole host of Bollywood actors potentially walk the glorious red carpet at the Oscars. Life of Pi featured Irrfan Khan, Tabu and Adil Hussain, whilst Anupam Kher featured in Silver Linings Playbook. If you have not had the chance yet, do check our film review and exclusive interviews from both films.
