Anyone that talks to Imran Khan will agree that there are traces of his Mamu, Aamir Khan, evident in his speech and passion for films. As one of the few actors doing well on his own, he explained to Times of India that there is no formula or fear of typecasting. “I am far too young and new in the industry to be typecast. And when people talk about typecast, say romantic comedy, what are the rom coms I have done? There is Ek Main Aur Ek Tu and I Hate Luv Storys. When you get success in a particular space, people tend to see you in that space. So you get lots of offers. It is not because I actively want to do a particular kind of film. People don’t think outside the box. So it takes a good director with a little more vision to think outside the box.”Say the actor that has recently walked away with a hat trick of hit films with Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu doing very well at the box office.

But how does he explain the success? For that he goes back to his Mamu. “I remember after Ghajini, Aamir had received a message from someone via someone via someone from a guy in Nagpur, who dealt with disco lights. Ghajini was doing great in Nagpur, so this theatre owner hired disco lights from this guy to decorate the theatre. This guy normally gets business from birthday parties or weddings. But in this case, his lights were booked for two whole weeks. And he was making a lot of money because of Ghajini..” Wah! So even a light supplier made money from the smash hit! But in all seriousness, the actor continues “I would rather have a superhit film than an extra five crore. I can always make the money from endorsements.”
