Though the film did not exactly set the box office on fire, Dibakar Banerjee’s Love, Sex aur Dhoka (LSD) did manage to win the hearts of the critics as well as the urban audience. And it is now proving to be a darling of film festivals as well.

LSD has managed screenings in not one, not two but three international film festivals! It is being played at Filmfest Munchen in Germany – which is the country’ second largest film festival, London Indian Film Festival – a platform for global independent talent – and Melbourne International Film festival – the longest running Australian film festival. Needless to say, everyone associated with the movie, especially Dibakar, is overwhelmed. He gushed, “Finally films that show the reality are here and now India is finding a truly international audience. They are looking forward to what’s beyond the Bollywood Star Studded Vehicles – the alternative layers of reality of the modern Indian society. Frankly we have a long way to go – but I’m proud to see LSD as a small beginning to big things!” Vikram Malhotra, COO – Motion Pictures, Balaji Telefilms states that the concept and treatment of the movie had made them confident that the movie would appeal to the foreign audience as well.

It’s truly commendable that Indian films are slowly but steadily making their presence felt in the international film market.

London Indian Film Festival also screened movies like City of Gold, Last Chance Mumbai, Road To Sangam and Vihir.
