The first screening of Advait Chandan’s eagerly awaited Loveyapa for the cast and crew and their family is to be held this evening.
Loveyapa is all set to release on February 7 alongside Himesh Reshammiya’s umpteenth attempt establish himself as a leading man in Badass(?) Ravikumar, an out-and-out actioner , and we all know action films aren’t doing well this year.
The need for fresh talent has been palpable in the film industry for very long now. It looks like 2025 is going to be the year of newcomers, what with faces like Ibrahim Ali Khan, Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor all set to hit the big screen for the first time. Junaid and Khushi have already been seen separately on the OTT platform. They will now be seen as a big-screen pair in Advait Chandan’s Loveyapa releasing on February 7.
While the Tamil version, Love Today was directed by the film’s leading man Pradeep Ranganathan, the remake, drastically removed from the original, is directed by Aamir Khan’s favourite contemporary director Advait Chandan who has tweaked the original rigorously and sensibly for a pan-India audience. The film works on a devious tongue-in-cheek premise: the girl’s father (played by the ever reliable Ashutosh Rana) asks the lovebirds to swap their phones for a day.
Indeed the Hindi remake is not only a marked improvement on the original, Junaid and Khushi are vastly superior to the original actors. They are bound to be the Sophomore Stars of 2025.
