The Lunchbox has been widely accepted and appreciated in various film festivals. Co-producer Vivek Rangachari of DAR Motion Pictures says that the film is not a typical commercial release, but will surely surprise everyone. “It is an unusual film that is not of the 200-250 cr club. This film has its appeal and people will surely like it,” he added.
Talking about the film’s budget, he said, ”I am not allowed to reveal the budget, but all I can say is that it is a medium budget film. We did our editing in New York and the post production work happened in Germany and France.”
Vivek spoke about Irrfan Khan who is the lead actor for Lunchbox and was also in D-Day, another film that Vivek had produced. “Irrfan is a great actor and I have known him for a long time. We will surely do more projects together in future,” he said.
Lunchbox is directed by Ritesh Batra and features Irrfan Khan, Nimrit Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
