It is always inevitable that an actor gets slotted in a certain genre once he excels in it. This seems to be the case of Southern star Madhavan who recently wooed us with 3 Idiots. Now the actor will be seen yet again in a film focussing on the Indian education system. The film is titled Faltu and is to be directed by ace choreographer Remo Fernandez (popular judge on TV’s Dance India Dance).
Maddy felt obliged to take on the project as it is being produced by Vashu Bhganani who is an old friend cum collegue (producer of Maddy’s Hindi debut film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein co-starring Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan). He was initially hesitant to a film on the same topic but later agreed to it.
More interestingly the film is said to be the relaunch vehicle of Jacky Bhagnani whom you all may have forgotten after his disastrous debut in Kal Kisne Dekha (a film jisse kiseene nahi dekha!). It’s said to also star Akshay Kumar in a pivotal role and will mark the debut of Miss India, Pooja Chopra.
Whilst info on the film is still being kept under wraps, Maddy’s spokesperson did confirm to the media that he’s indeed given the green light to the project. Madhavan is currently busy shooting in Punjab for his upcoming Hindi venture Tanu Weds Manu.
