Actress Madhuri Dixit, who has been busy shooting for her film Gulab Gang, was recently present at the inauguration of a jewelry store in Mumbai. The dhak-dhak girl, who was last seen dancing on the tune of Ghagra in a special cameo for the Ranbir-Deepika starrer blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, is excited to be back to the main stream cinema.
Madhuri portrays the character of Rajjo, who heads a gulabi gang, which consists of a group of women dacoits dressed in pink saris that operates in the Bundelkhand region. The audience will get to see Madhuri in a rough, abusive and action packed performance unlike her other roles that have been very feminine and demure in nature.
The movie is also considered as Madhuri’s comeback movie post her last appearance in 2007 flick, Aaja Nachle. “It’s a very powerful character. I am fascinated by it. The message through the movie is also very strong. There is action in the film which I have not done so far in any of the movies”, said the actress when asked about the movie.
The movie would also see Madhuri Dixit sharing the screen space with Juhi Chawla, for the first time in their common career span of 27 years. Both the actresses were once considered to be competitors in the 1980s and 1990s.
Directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Anubhav Sinha, Gulab Gang is surely going to be an action packed movie.
