He is one of the most sought-after Bollywood designers today. In addition Manish Malhotra’s candid rapport with B-town is evident from the starry turn-out at his fashion shows. Once again on a rainy morning earlier today, celeb’s from Manish’s closest friend circle turned up to support their favourite designer for his new diffusion store opening. Unlike the opening of his flagship store in 2006 which was marked with glitz and glamor, this one was an informal event with no press or media invites, but rather merely friends and family to celebrate the designer’s second store in the city. As per Manish, this store will stock lighter men and women’s wear, tunics, cocktail wear, etc.
Nephew Punit Malhotra was one of the first to reach with family and quickly posted a pic to share the excitement. Subsequently actresses Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Neelam, director Karan Johar, writer Niranjan Iyengar arrived at the store.
It is possibly the busiest month for the couturier. In between designing for a plethora of film projects, Manish has been whizzing off to Delhi where he is putting up the grand finale at the PCJ Delhi Couture Week on 4th August which will feature Deepika Padukone walking the ramp as his show stopper. It will be an encore trip to Delhi in mid-August when he will inaugurate his 1st flagship store in the Capital. Soon after, he will return to Mumbai to begin preps for the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013, wherein Manish will display a fresh line in the opening act of the season with an extravagant show on 22nd August 2013, a day before the rest of the shows are scheduled.
