Minissha Lamba has expressed some strong views on woman’s new position in India recently, “Today’s woman, especially the Indian woman, is always taught to be self-sacrificing. Now is the time we have to stand up and let them know that we are a priority,” she says. Minissha was walking the ramp at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in aid of breast cancer. “The word breast is a very intimate word and when it’s linked to something like cancer, people find it very scary. They don’t want to talk about it openly,” she explained.
Minissha has had a busy couple of years with performances in Dus Kahaniyaan, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Corporate, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Kidnap. Minissha, who switched from girl-next-door to hot babe for her role in Kidnap, is back in girl-next-door mode for her cover of this month’s Seventeen. She’s pictured in a very sweet pink sari.
Minissha credits her current toned-up torso to Kidnap co-star Imraan Khan who ate with her on the set of Kidnap, keeping her away from home-cooked foods. She has since appeared in a bikini shoot for Maxim India. Meanwhile, Minissha who is something of a baby doll herself, has said she’s not interested in the 50th anniversary celebrations currently being held worldwide for Barbie. “She has all the wrong proportions and an unrealistic shape,” she says, “She never fascinated me. I am not the Barbie doll type.”
