Ousting Akshay Kumar from the top spot, Shah Rukh Khan became the number one tax payer in the film industry for the second quarter of the financial year 2011. The King Khan is paying Rs. 5 crore to the Income Tax (IT) department, versus the Rs. 3.5 crore he paid in the same quarter of last year.
Khiladi Kumar is now in second position paying Rs. 4.5 crore, followed closely by Aamir Khan who paid Rs. 4 crore to the IT department.
Pataudi son Saif Ali Khan and Kapoor khandaan prince Ranbir Kapoor share the fourth position by paying Rs. 2.5 crore each. Salman Khan paid only Rs. 2 crore compared to the Rs. 2.5 crore he paid in the same quarter last year.
Among the actresses it was Katrina Kaif who came out on top, paying Rs. 1.3 crore, followed by Kareena Kapoor, who paid Rs. 1 crore.
Hrithik Roshan paid a miniscule Rs. 50 lakh compared to the Rs. 3 crore he paid in the second quarter of the 2010 financial year. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave Rs. 50 lakh this year compared to Rs. 25 lakh last year. Similarly, Vishal Bharadwaj gave Rs. 25 lakh against Rs. 15 lakh last year to the IT department.
