Like many models turned actress before her, Mrinalini Sharma is finding that developing a career in Bollywood is a challenging but highly enjoyable experience. “It’s been quite difficult,” she admits, “Star kids have it much easier. One has to constantly network and be in touch with influential people. I am still learning the tricks of the trade.”
The New Delhi-educated actress has not been seen since Showbiz, so why is that? “I was waiting for the right script,” she explains, “I had many offers but they didn’t suit me. Either the screenplay was bad or the character was insignificant.”
However, Mrinalini’s luck appears to have changed with the hotly-tipped Hide & Seek, an action film that stars Arjan Bajwa and Purab Kohli, in which Mrinalini has a significant role. She says she is also open to offers from film producers in the south. “I am always open to good scripts from any part of the country. My Hindi film Hide & Seek, by the way, is also set to release on January 8th.”
