Never one to put a block on his creativity, Karan Johar has decided that the only way to make a flood in My Name is Khan look authentic is to actually create a real flood. So the set of New York that he has created on a huge sound stage in Mumbai is about to be deluged by thousands of gallons of water. “The entire set will be under water for the next few days,” said a source from the movie. It is going to be a difficult shoot and Karan is tensed about it. This is one of the most important sequences in the film and all precautions are being taken. Many tankers have been called to fill the set with water and Karan is very particular that he wants everything to be right.”

Karan, however, is worried about his health as he may be wading in water for hours, so he has arranged for some special waterproof costumes to be made for himself and his crew “Karan is also very concerned about the health risks of staying in water for hours,” the source continued, “That’s why he has asked his designer friend Shiraz Siddiqui to make special waterproof costumes for himself as well as his entire unit. However, the actors SRK and Kajol will not have the costumes as they have to be seen in their look for the film!”

About the shoot KJO tweeted, “Day 2 of a tough shoot…some great footage canned…poor srk was in neck deep water all day!!!”

It doesn’t look as though SRK is holding it against Karan, however. Both he and his wife, Gauri, have signed up to model Kara’s new clothing range. The menswear collection carrying his name will be designed in conjunction with top designer Varun Bahl.
