Starring the incredible cast of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Satarupa, the brilliant I’m Not An Actor (Main Actor Nahin Hoon), is ready for a UK-wide release starting 7 November.

Written, directed, and produced by Aditya Kripalani, the India–Germany co-production is a unique exploration of human emotion. Shot live across India and Germany over 28 days, the film places its two leads in a continuous video call across continents. The result is an intimate, day-long conversation that blurs the boundaries between performance and reality, as well as between teacher and student.

The story follows Mouni Roy (Satarupa), a struggling Mumbai-based actor who aspires to join the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Adnan (Siddiqui), a retired banker in Frankfurt struggling with depression. An online audition brings them together, leading to a single day of connection that transforms both their lives. Through shifting roles of teacher and student, and contrasting landscapes of Mumbai and Frankfurt, the film explores human fragility, resilience, and the shared language of performance.

In this fascinating conversation, Director Aditya Kripalani, along with the stars of the film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Satarupa, talked with Stacey about creating the story, their roles as actors in a movie about actors, and even more about the making of I’m Not An Actor.

I want to thank Aditya Kripalani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Chitrangada Satarupa for the wonderful conversation.

Just from this interview alone, I am eager to see the film and highly recommend that you see I’m Not An Actor.
