Neetu Chandra, currently filming opposite Vishal for Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai, was recently filmed in a bathtub of red hot chillies for some blatant symbolism. “The scene was taken for an intro song with Vishal for the film,” explains Neetu, “ Director Thiru told me that I had to soak in a bathtub that would be filled with dummy red chillies. But when we finally set up the bathtub, we realised that the fake chillies weren’t enough to fill the tub. So, Thiru told me that he would use real chillies…!”
The chillies gave the hot actress an itchy rash all over and she had to soak in a bathtub of water for hours. “I felt like chilli chicken and had to rub cold rose water on myself,” she says. The film, a Telugu version of Bachna ae Haseeno, is due for release in January and also stars former Miss Indias Tanushree Dutta and Sarah-Jane Dias.
Neetu recently experienced a bit of melodrama in real life when her maid threatened to commit suicide when she was asked to leave. Neetu had become concerned over a number of issues, including the maid’s husband staying in Neetu’s apartment without her permission when she was away filming. When the maid threatened suicide, Neetu continued to employ her for two weeks until she could gain support from friends for a final confrontation with her. “It may sound silly but I felt emotionally blackmailed by her threats of suicide,” she explains, “And it took me time to resist this kind of a pressure. I have nothing to say beyond this
