With two big releases coming up in Jail with Mugdha Godse and New York with John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh looks destined to join the A List of actors in Bollywood during the first half of this year. Mughda, fresh from her success in Fashion, is particularly looking forward to her role in Jail. “I’m looking forward to doing naach-gana after doing the unconventional stuff in Fashion,” she says, “In fact, all the offers coming to me now are of the same variety, which is surprising considering I did none of that in my first film.”
Dedicated to his craft, Neil had to undergo an amazing physical transformation for his role in New York – first of all gaining eight kilos and then shedding it again for his more toned look in the second half of the movie – and he had to do all this within three months. “It was annoying to put on extra weight, but then my role asked for it,” he explains, “But I’m feeling great that I’m in perfect shape and feeling quite fit now.”
Neil has been talking about the object over which he is most possessive in his life – and that’s the watch that was given to him by his father. “I wear this watch as often as I can. That’s because of the emotional connect and the value it holds for me,” he confirms, “It’s another matter that it’s also the first branded watch that I was ever given! So I’m damn possessive about it.”
