Neil Nitin Mukesh talks with Subhash K Jha about his new series, the musical, Hai Junoon, which showcases his talent on piano, directed by Abhishek Sharma.

How do you feel being part of musical like Hai Junoon?
Hai Junoon is indeed a show very close to my heart for mang reasons. I play Gagan Ahuja, a musical genius! Music is in my blood and I’ve always been a passionate musician. This show allows me to showcase my skills.

Your grandfather was a legendary singer and your father is a also a well-known singer. Do you sing in Hai Junoon?
As for singing, I do get to croon in the show a little but since I play a pianist it’s that skill of mine that’s highlighted most. Not many know I play the piano. I’m excited for audiences to connect with me on that front.

How did you become a part of this show?
I bagged this project thanks to my producer and writer Aditya Bhatt, Sagar Thakkar and my director Abhishek Sharma who had immense faith in me and my talent. They literally fought for me to be a part of this show. A vision they knew would become a reality. A side of mine they knew was hidden and needed to be seen.

What was the clincher for you?
My personal team’s hard work and faith. The Show’s compelling storyline was without a doubt a deal maker. Working with Boman Irani, Jacqueline Fernandez , Siddharth Nigam, Sumedh Mudgalkar , Shazaan Padamsee , Anusha Mani and the entire cast was an absolute delight. The Show is a musical extravaganza filled with drama. I think audiences are having a blast watching it. With its fun storyline, memorable characters, and catchy songs, Hai Junoon is an entertainer.
