Rumors come and go, but this time it went a step further when the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) reported that Amisha Patel will contest the election from Rajkot on a party ticket. Amisha is exasperated because she has been getting congratulatory calls ever since, “I got offers from many political parties for campaigning but I’m not taking up any at this moment. I have no time for politics right now.”

Looking stunning at an event to promote a contouring clinic in the city, she explains further, “If an actor can balance both film and political career simultaneously, then why not? An actor has to be interested in politics. The rest can definitely fall in place.”

Amisha is happy with successful run of films be it Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and her hit item number, ‘Lazy Lamhe’, from Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. “At present, I am working for Chatur Singh Two Star and Run Bhola Run. Then I’ll choose a few others,” she says. Patel is also busy with the pre-production of her next project under the Yash Raj banner.

Ask her about being bitten by the ‘choosy’ bug, she says, “I don’t know about others, but I’ve done whatever has come my way for five years, from period films like Gadar to thrillers like Humraaz and love stories like Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. But now is my time to set back and relax, and choose films that I actually enjoy doing.”
