Nushrratt Bharuccha has shown she can play characters in a wide variety of film genres in films like Love Sex Aur Dholka, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, and Chhalaang. She showcases this once again with her newest release by playing the lead role in the paranormal horror film Chhorii. Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii, is a remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi tells a haunting tale of a modern, young couple, Sakshi and Hemant, based in the heartland of India. Sakshi, who is eight months pregnant, and Hemant are forced by challenging life circumstances to seek shelter in an isolated house surrounded by large sugarcane fields. The house is inhabited by an old couple who seem to know more than they tell. Unknown to Sakshi, there are mysterious evil forces in the fields after her and her unborn child.
