Om Shanti Om’s Premiere in London

On Tuesday night Leicester Square in London was witness to something that has never happened before a premiere of a Bollywood movie. Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om is the first Bollywood film to have its World Premiere at the home of all big film premieres in London the Empire Theater.

Fans cheered the stars of the film Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone , Arjun Rampal and Shreyas Talpade as they walked down the red carpet.

SRK said that Bollywood films are now becoming more known to the global audience and especially in the UK. He hoped this film was just the beginning in Bollywood becoming bigger world wide, “I have always thought that we should be taking the first steps to bring out India’s economy and culture to the world,” he said.

About the film itself he said, “This is a film on Indian films and the youngsters who had acted in the film were quite fantastic. I believe my film is the biggest in the world and there is no competition while I wish better to luck to Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saawariya which is also being released on Friday.”

Adding, “You give me any role, I will try to make it memorable role, we are here to sell hope and dream.”

Deepika Padukone is making her debut in the film and said, “Personally, I could not have asked for a better launch. Shah Rukh Khan is my favourite actor and I got a lot of tips from him during the shoot.”

Asked if she was nervous she said, “I’m not nervous. This is the most exciting Diwali for me.”
