Omi Vaidya shot to fame with his funny portrayal of Chatur in the hugely succesfull 3 Idiots. After that he was seen in Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, Players and most recently in Jodi Breakers. He had even anchored the talent show Chhote Ustaad of Star Plus in 2010. Now his next role, that of director. He revealed to us that he will direct very soon but the question was what type of film. Even though one would expect a comedy film while thinking of the actor, he surprises everyone by revealing that it is a sci-fi thriller for which he wrote the script.
“I am very interested in science fiction and wrote a script in that genre. It’s a sci-fi thriller. It will be a heavily plot-based film. Of course, I will ‘Bollywoodise’ it,” he says, adding, “It’s a small budget film and will go on the floor by the end of the year hopefully.”
So, the next question is, who will play the main lead? And will he act in his own film? “I won’t be casting any high-profile stars. Rather, they will be character actors, who are quite talented. I can’t reveal any names yet.”
