1. Jodhaa Akbar

The most awaited movie of 2008 – Jodhaa Akbar. The theatrical promo has been catching the interest of millions and people are looking forward to watch Hrithik-Ash pair rock again on-screen after Dhoom 2.

Jodhaa Akbar is a true love story between the great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. Hrithik Roshan plays Akbar while Aishwarya Rai plays Jodhaa. The movie is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. A. R. Rahman will score the music. Jodhaa Akbar is slated to rock the silver screen on January 25, 2008.

2. Sarkar Raj

Sarkar Raj is the official sequel of Sarkar, which was inspired by The Godfather. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Tanisha. It is directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. Cinematographer Amit Roy reveals that Sarkar Raj will have a distinct and different look than the original film. Roy claims Sarkar Raj will have a much more lush texture.

The movie is currently being filmed at the Ramoji Film City studios in Hyderabad. However the cast and crew are most likely to film outdoor scenes in Mumbai as well.

3. Kunal Kohli’s Untitled

Kunal Kohli is back with yet another interesting project. After Hum Tum, Kunal brings back Saif & Rani but this time, Amisha Patel joins them to make the story even more interesting. Rumors claim that Rani is playing an angel sliding to earth with a rather sweet and touching mission. It is also rumored that the movie is inspired by Disney’s classic, Mary Poppins, as much as Hum Tum was inspired by When Harry Met Sally.

The movie is Kunal Kohli’s home-production while Yash Raj Films will distribute the film and help with the production and special effects. The music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. It is currently under production and will be completed in February.

4. Tashan

Tashan is a forthcoming flick starring Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor & Anil Kapoor. Its directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya by Vijay Krishna Acharya who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for hits like Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The film will be produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The music will be scored by none other than, Vishal & Shekar.

The shooting of the film has begun since June 2007. It has been shot in several locations in India such as Laddakh & Rajasthan. Anil Kapoor will be seen in a negative role while Kareena has an ultra-glamorous look in the film.

5. Love Story 2050

Love Story 2050 is a futuristic/sci-fi Film starring producer Pammi Baweja’s son Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra. The movie is currently being filmed in Australia and is to be one of Bollywood’s most expensive movies to date. Initially the film was suppose to release on December 21, 2007 but got postponed to April 25, 2008 to avoid clashing with Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par while Harry Baweja claims that it has been postponed since its still under production.

Priyanka Chopra will be seen in an interesting double role. The special effects are being executed by four international firms, of which two special effects’ houses — Weta Workshop (New Zealand) and John Cox (Brisbane, Australia) — have already won an Academy Award for their work on international projects. Himesh Reshammiya will compose the music of the film.
