Prerna Arora who has already begun preparing for her next Hindi-Telugu bilingual says she is pleased with the boxoffice performance of Jatadhara.
“It could have done far better, if we had cut the length of the film. I sincerely feel audiences have no appetite to watch anything for more than two hours in movie theatres. Reduce the length of films and ticket prices , and we will have a far more proactive and expanded audience spectrum. Greed of cinema halls to fleece patrons with inflated ticket prices and cafeteria mafia-giri is killing the business,” says Prerna.
However, she admits she saved a lot of money shooting in Hyderabad. “The same shooting schedules in Mumbai would have cost me twice as much. In Hyderabad, nobody cheats a movie producer on the ground level. The technicians charge nominally and know their jobs.”
Arora will shoot her next in Hyderabad. “We are in negotiations with a number of A-listers Andhra.”
In the meanwhile, Jatadhara has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video. And Prerna is relieved. “Our film will finally get the audience it deserves. We got ample eyeballs in the movie theatres. Now on the OTT, Jatadhara would go through the roof. At least that is what I am hoping and expecting.”
