Having fulfilled her duties as Miss India, Kerala-born Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair is now ready for the next traditional step in her career by making her debut in Bollywood. She will be featuring in United Six, a Charley’s Angels style action movie which also features Daisy Bopanna, Pooja Sharma, Luna Lakhar, Mahi and Isha Batwe.
She is pleased that she didn’t rush into the first film that came along but waited for the right script. “A lot of offers kept pouring in after the Miss World pageant but I did not like the scripts,” she confirms, “When I was approached for this film, the script instantly sent positive vibes. The film is about six girls from different walks of life and how a situation unites them. There is no male lead in the film.”
Was she upset at losing out to traditional rivals Russia and only coming second in last year’s Miss World contest? “I don’t think about it anymore,”; she says, “Yes, I was upset at being so close and yet so far. Anybody in my place would have felt the same. But I knew God had something else in store for me. I believe I have achieved success. For me success does not mean winning a crown; it is doing your best to make a place in people’s hearts.”
