Known to bring out the best performances from all actresses he’s worked with, director-choreographer Prabhu Deva, impressed with Jacqueline Fernandez’ dancing chops in her recent films, has roped the actress for a special item song in his directorial next, Tips Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya.

Interestingly titled “Jaadu Ki Jhappi De De Tu Abhi”, the song will see Jacqueline as the quintessential village belle, and is scheduled to be shot in the fields of Punjab’s Kiri Afgana village. For her first ever all-Indian avatar on screen, the makers have even roped in designer to the stars Manish Malhotra for the 3 day shoot in Chandigarh.

Confirming the news, producer Kumar Taurani said, “We have Prabhu Deva, Jacqueline and Girish (leading hero of the film) doing a special song Jaadu Ki Jhappi De De Tu Abhi. It is a travel song but not like Chaiyya Chaiyya, it is very different,”.

Says Jacqueline, “You are not a complete Bollywood heroine till you dance in the fields of Punjab. Thanks to this song, I feel that I completely belong here. I enjoy dancing, but it’s the first time that I have done such a number with desi steps. And it was super-exciting.”

“I can’t thank Rameshji (Taurani) and Prabhudeva enough. I was in awe of dancing with Prabhudeva, but he is so non-starry that all my nervousness was put to rest,” added the Race 2 actress.

Shot in India and overseas, Kumar Taurani’s Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya directed by Prabhudeva starring Girish Kumar and Shruti Haasan is scheduled to release 7th June 2013.
