What do you have lined up this year?
This year is going to be exciting for me as I have a couple of films which are ready.Dhoom Dham is already out.. Ghamasan had a screening in (MAMI) festival. That is also ready to be released. Am hoping that it’s announced soon. Another film, Phule, is also ready. I’m just waiting for their release. There are a couple of web shows that I have done that also should come out this year, and one of them is the biggest of my career till now, Gandhi, produced by Applause Entertainment, which is under production, so this year is going to be full of excitement for me.
Last year too was quite a year for you….From a fate fighter in Do Aur Do Pyaar to a firefighter in Agni?
Yes, from Do Aur Do Pyaar to Agni, it was a joyride, and it was quite a memorable ride for me. I find myself lucky enough to have created these different characters of different spectrums, different worlds. All the stories were so different from each other. And nothing can be more satisfying than getting these varied characters and being seen as, you know, an actor who can create this kind of large spectrum. So I feel really satisfied, very happy, very contented, and grateful to all the writers and directors who could visualize me in this and who gave me this chance to create these different characters.
As you look back, do you feel satisfied with your versatile work?
The journey has been extremely satisfied and full of gratitude. I owe it to a lot of people who have shown that much of trust in me and my craft and who let me create this different characters as an actor; I have been subconsciously preparing for something like this to come my way. I have always wanted to be the first choice of writers and directors, and this is the journey that I have always wanted for myself. I finally feel that, yes, it is happening to a large extent, and I am getting good scripts. I’m getting to work with talented and visionary directors, writers, and makers, so ‘satisfying’ is the only word that comes to my mind right now.
