There’s no denying that Preity Zinta has got oodles of talent–the problem is, we don’t get to see it too often. In fact, the last time we saw Preity as a lead heroine was in last year’s Jaan-e-Mann where she had a bland and boring character.
Not to fear, Preity Zinta is back and raring to go! Zinta has often been accused of working with the same people over and over again (Yash Raj Films) just to stay safe. It was getting to the point where a Preity Zinta film was no longer special. No doubt, Preity has pulled up her socks and has made some interesting career choices.
This year will see Preity in three diverse films. Yes, you heard it–Preity has a mixed bag after a long time. If you recall, last year we mentioned that ‘Preity Zinta needs to learn the meaning of versatility’ in our Stars’ New Years Resolutions article. Looks like Preity has seen the light!
This June will witness Yash Raj Films’ Jhoom Barabar Jhoom co-starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta. Directed by Shaad Ali Sehgal, this one looks like it’ll be a rocking film.
Next we have Rituparno Ghosh’s English-language film titeld The Last Lear with Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta and Shefali Shah. If we judge by Ghosh’s past records, we can expect a great performance and a wonderful film as well.
This October, we can add another film to the long list of biggies releasing that month. Jahnu Barua (of Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara acclaim) has signed Preity for his next. Titled Har Pall, the film will also star Shiney Ahuja and rumours claim that Amitabh Bachchan may feature in the film as well. It’s said to be a sweet love story, which always goes down well!
With new production houses, new directors and new co-stars, it looks like Preity Zinta is re-inventing herself!
