In her new film, The Bluff, set to release February 25th, Priyanka Chopra plays a pirate in the 1800s. Bringing action-adventure to life, The Bluff sees Priyanka as Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, whose tranquil life is shattered by the return of her vengeful former captain. The skilled ex-pirate must confront her bloody past to save her family.
Speaking on how the role came her way, Priyanka says, “I was filming season two of Citadel with Joe Russo, and I’ve had an incredible relationship with AGBO (the Russo brothers’ software company) through Citadel. And one day, Joe sent me this script in my inbox, and I couldn’t stop reading it once I started.”
Priyanka was hooked to the script. “I finished it in one go, and it moved me on so many levels. I was really excited about participating and grateful to get the part. When I met Frank E. Flowers (director), I knew that this would be something special for me as an actor in my filmography. To be able to go into the 1800s and play the part of a woman with so many layers was a privilege. And coming on board as a producer and a true collaborating partner was amazing. AGBO and Amazon Prime Video always made me feel like a collaborator, and so did Frank E Flowers. I had the best time filming this movie.”
