Priyanka Chopra is all set to make her mark in the music industry and the actress is currently working on her debut international music album that is set to release in 2012.
The Ex Miss World, who is a trained western classical singer, recently signed a worldwide recording agreement with Universal Music and Desi Hits.
Priyanka Chopra has been taking music lessons to strengthen her voice and she told the media all about her upcoming music venture. On taking music lessons the actress told the media, “Yes, I am taking vocal lessons. I have been an actor all these years and now because I am singing I had to take vocal lessons and I am doing lot of vocal work.”
Priyanka, who says she has ‘always been good at multitasking has no plans to leave her acting career behind to concentrate on her music. Priyanka told the media, “I believe I can balance both careers. I guess I’m greedy… I want both and it helps that I’m a workaholic! I’ve scheduled my life in such a way that I’m able to give my undivided attention to both.”
The upcoming album is set to be a mix of R&B and a bit of dance, and the actress is ‘experimenting with different sounds and styles.’ On talking about the sounds we can be expected to hear the actress said, “It will definitely be upbeat. There’ll be a bit of dance, a bit of R&B and a few ballads thrown in to appease my romantic side.”
The actress also spoke to the media about why her favourite singers are ‘Lady Gaga and Rihanna.’ Priyanka said, “I love their music and their style… they have an individuality that shines through in their music. They make the kind of music I like!”
Priyanka Chopra will next be seen on the big screen in a special appearance as The Damsel in Distress in Ra.One and then in Don 2: The Chase Continues opposite Shahrukh Khan, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani. The film is set to release on 23rd December 2011.
