After conquering the box office and critics with his last effort, Jodhaa Akbar (which just completed 100 days in theatres), Ashutosh Gowariker has eagerly finalized his next project which is set to be a romantic comedy. The flavour of the season seems to be real life couples acting together in the reel world, with Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja being signed for the project in question.
Set to roll in November 2008, the film is titled What’s Your Raashee? and will be jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker’s production house. It will be a take on Madhu Rye’s Gujarati novel ‘Kimball Ravenswood’.
He tells Bollywood Hungama, “It is a genre that I have always loved, my most favorite ones being Roman Holiday, When Harry Met Sally, all of Frank Capra, amongst several others. I am also a great fan of Chupke Chupke and all the romantic comedies of Hrishikesh Mukherji and Basu Chatterji. It is a genre that I had always wanted to attempt and now I have got the opportunity to do so through What’s Your Raashee.”
From Lagaan to Swades to Jodhaa Akbar, Gowariker has always given us something different. Expect noting less this time around!
