On-off celebrity couple, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor, are to do some entertaining and show-stopping performances in the form of tributes to the yesteryear stars. Word from the grapevine is that desi girl Priyanka is set to groove to the original Umrao Jaan, Ms Rekha-ji’s tracks, whilst beau and Kaminey co-star Shahid is to dance along to some cool South-Indian songs.
It seems the pair are in awe of their icons as about the veteran actress Rekha Priyanka gushes, “I completely love and adore her,” and even Shahid went as far as to tell sources close to the event that “I would be performing on one of the songs from Appu Raja which features Kamal Hassan. It is a cool song; I am trying to learn the lyrics. It is my ode to South film industry.”
About the South, Shahid further adds, “There are lot of South actors who are coming to IIFA this year including Kamal Hassan. So this time I am going down South. I will be performing on old South songs.”
Despite both Priyanka and Shahid having such busy schedules with forthcoming films, Barfee, Krrish 3 and the remake of Zanjeer (Priyanka) and Maneesh Sharma’s next untitled project with Anushka Sharma, Pocket Maar, Heer and Ranjha and Kismat Konnection 2 (Shahid), they still manage to fit in promotions for their new film Teri Meri Kahaani and rehearsals for the IIFAs too!
Choreographer and director, Prabu Deva is choreographing Priyanka and Shahid’s dances as well as Bipasha Basu, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranbir Kapoor’s and others as well! The IIFAs are said to be hosted by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar and will be held in Singapore between June the 7th and 9th of this year.
