Priyanka Chopra will be jetting off to Hong Kong next week to pick up the Nielsen Box Office Award at the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival. The film is in honour of her contribution to Asian cinema. Last year’s winner was Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau. “Priyanka Chopra is India’s number one female star, said Eric Mika, VP of Nielsen Media, “It is truly amazing to acknowledge the breadth of her success, and we are honoured to bestow the Nielsen Box Office Award on someone who has done so much in so little time.”
Priyanka Chopra was recently at a launch party for the magazine L’Officiel, for which she’s the latest cover star and for a designer shoe store. She spoke about how she likes to do different things for each magazine cover. “I am just trying to do magazines which are different, pictures which are different, she says. On L’Officiel, she can be seen in a Mumbai hotel. “Running away from convention has become a habit for me. I am doing magazine covers and trying to balance them with my work, so it’s fun.” She can also be seen this month on the cover of FHM magazine in stunning mauve lingerie.
She took the opportunity at the L’Officiel event to also to talk about some of the difficulties she had in the making of her new movie Kaminey with Shahid Kapoor – a story of identical twin brothers and their different paths in life. ‘There’s a lot of Marathi in the film, yes and it was very, very difficult because Marathi is a very hard language and I don’t know it at all,” she said.
