The highly anticipated official Bollywood remake of The Italian Job, Players – Go for Gold faced quite a few difficulties in the making.

While shooting at an International airport, the authorities refused to give permission for the actors to shoot the scene as it was too dangerous. A plane had to fly above their cars, just missing the cars by a few inches as seen in the trailer.

The stunt directors Mark and Alan did a lot of rehearsals during breaks and the airport authorities finally gave a go ahead to the actors to do it themselves as it was an important sequence.

Even the leading ladies, Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor had to cope with different sort of issues throughout the filming in New Zealand.

Their hairstyles were difficult to maintain as they were shooting in Wellington – known as the windiest place in the world. The wind there is at a speed of 150 km/ph. Every 2 hours the direction of the wind would change. It was very difficult to shoot as the wind kept blowing off the hairstyles of Sonam and Bipasha.

Directed by Abbas-Mustan, a Viacom 18 Motion Pictures production, Players – Go for Gold starring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Doel, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Omi Vadiya and Sikander Kher will release in the UK and worldwide on 6th January 2012.
