R. Madhavan in the one film club

Aamir Khan started a Hollywood-esque trend in the late 90s, where he chose to concentrate on one film at a time, and everyone knows the successful results that has wielded him. Notably Hrithik Roshan followed suit, where again it did his career wonders and now R. Madhavan seems to have adopted the philosophy. He shared “I do one film a year. I don’t look at a film like a project, I worship it. It’s like going to a temple. I can’t jump from one film set to another film
set.”

Now that works well when you’re just doing Hindi films, but maybe not so true when you add a host of South Indian films to the mix also, but he claims that his approach is exactly the same down south, where his recent Tamil film Veetai did very well. His next hope is pinned on Jodi Breakers which is directed by Ashwini Chaudhary and co-stars Bipasha Basu, in a romantic comedy, where the pair play a duo who find ways to help people break up their relationships.

So Madhavan, technically that’s ‘two’ films a year, but as long as they’re as popular as Tanu weds Manu, I’m sure no one will complain!

Jodi Breakers releases nationwide on 24th February 2012.
