He is one of the greatest composers living today. If you watch Hindi films, which we know you do, you know who he is and probably can sing a song or two or twenty of his tunes! Not only is he revered in Indian cinema, in all the movie industries, he has also made his mark with International theater scores and soundtracks. Yes, we are talking about maestro A R Rahman.
Many a time in interviews you see the composed composer, but he also has a fun side! Recently, the cool channel MTV Iggy sat down with Mr. Rahman and not only did he talk about his new tour, he also showed off his iPad and a cool app!
In the interview, Rahman demonstrates the app on the iPad he likes to play with for music called Beibot. Of course, he makes a cool sound even as he says he is still “getting used to this stuff”. Rahman-ji also talks about how he creates music in the studio and says that not every idea goes out. “I just do the ideas, there is a buffer in me. Then I kind of evaluate it and say okay let me give this to them.” Adding he gives them four or five and then lets them decide. Wanna see the full video? Click here!
We also have the second part of the interview where Rahman announces his new tour. The tour is called the Journey Home Tour and he says it is something audiences have never seen before. In fact, it is going to have some really cool new technology and art director Amy Tinkham says, “It was clear that it was important to him that, just like his music is completely original in its interpretation of whatever he is doing, that the show should be that as well”.
