Raj&Pablo, the Bollytastic hosts of BBC Asian Network’s Love Bollywood show, are getting ready to add another feather in their caps with the release of a compilation album of some of their all-time favorite Bollywood songs! Released by EMI Records, the CD titled ‘Love Bollywood’, will feature over 40 tracks ranging from classics to contemporary, ballads to dance beats, from some of Bollywood’s best films.

EMI TV commented: “We’re very pleased to announce this foray into the world of Bollywood in collaboration with BBC Asian Network. The Indian film industry has a very special relationship with music, as the soundtrack is often integral to the success or failure of a movie. The popularity of Bollywood music has grown incredibly and we know this album will appeal to a wide audience, but with over a thousand films being released every year, Raj & Pablo had a lot to choose from, we could not have released a Bollywood compilation without some serious expertise!”

Raj&Pablo, have successfully established themselves as the first port of call and ‘must-do interview’ for each and every star in the Indian film industry that come to London. The duo handpicked the songs that are featured on the album. “We really enjoyed the selection process for the songs, although it’s no mean feat trying to select just a few songs from hundreds of great tracks! It did however give us a chance to listen to some older songs that we hadn’t played for a while! All the songs on the album are our favourites from BBC Asian Network’s “Love Bollywood” radio show, we trust they are your favourites too.”

As well as hosting the acclaimed radio show, ‘Love Bollywood’, on BBC Asian Network, the pair have played a major role in opening the doors of Bollywood to mainstream audiences. They host a glamorous Bollywood night every month at the Cobden Club, and take part in numerous activities including hosting events and DJ-ing, acting, singing and entertaining. They have also hosted Bollywood events at Selfridges and their radio show was recently selected in the Independent’s Radio Choice section.

Husain Husaini from BBC Asian Network adds: “Creating this album with EMI really highlights how far the Bollywood industry has come and how much Indian culture has assimilated into the mainstream. Having Raj&Pablo make the song choices was natural to us as their knowledge of Bollywood surpasses anyone else’s.”

The album will be released in the UK and Ireland on Monday 25th October.
