The film has been edited vividly by P. S. Bharathi Mehra, while the greatest Indian musical trio of contemporary times, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, has crafted a richly atmospheric soundtrack to further heighten the breathtaking mise-en-scene. Internationally, Polish DOP, Pawel Dyllus, has exquisitely shot the film, featuring action sequences directed by Danny Baldwin (The Last Samurai) and special effects courtesy of Prana (Life of Pi, Transformers, Thor). The film unfolds through heightened drama and state-of-the-art action sequences against the visually arresting terrain of Rajasthan, juxtaposed with flashes of the fantastical universe of the folklore dimension amid the mountainous landscape of Ladakh.
Mirzya is an epic love story that plays out in contemporary times, inspired by the folk tale of The legend of Mirza-Sahiban, a tragic love story that finds resonance in other odes, Romeo and Juliet and Laila Majnu.
A timeless narrative about star-crossed lovers is played out in parallel worlds, one real and one fantastical. As the lovers struggle against the forces that seek to keep them apart in both avatars, they discover that just one moment of pure, true love is worth an entire lifetime.
