After a gap of about a year following Mussanje Maathu, Ramya’s legions of followers will be justly relieved to see her back on screen in Just Maat Maathalli with Sudeep – but why the big gap? “It wasn’t a deliberate decision,” she explains, “It’s just that the scripts I heard weren’t acceptable to me. I want to do films that I myself can watch; I like taking that risk. Ultimately, it’s the viewer who decides the success of a film.”

Ramya’s movie Varanam Aayiram with Suriya recently won a National Award which left her thrilled. “I’m elated,” she says, “Although the film truly belonged to Suriya, I’m happy to be a part of this film. Working on VA made me push my boundaries.”

Fans of the voluptuous beauty will even get the chance to sit next to her at an IPL match as she has been chosen as an IPL ambassador for the Royal Challengers for the third year in a row. “I’m really excited because this year Dr Mallya has come out with a bigger format than the previous years,” she exclaims, “There’s going to be a Ramya stand, where fans can watch matches with me and get to be on TV as well.”
