It is being reported that director Anurag Basu and actor Ranbir Kapoor are set to join forces again, on a film based on the life of the legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar. Their latest team venture Barfi! is currently amassing huge collections at the box office, with praises being heaped on Basu and Kapoor for their input on the film’s success.
The new project on Kishore Kumar is currently in the scripting stage, and Basu has stated that it will enter the production stage near the end of 2013. Basu mentioned the following to the Indian press: “It’s a true film. I am very much connected to the subject and the idea of the script. I have not yet started working on the film yet. But we are happy that we have got agood nod from Kishore Kumar’s family to make this film.”
Basu has also stated that Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar is supporting them with the research in order to ensure the film is historically accurate. Before Basu has even stuck his teeth into the project, it is already being predicted that the soundtrack to this film will be top notch. Basu added the following: “We have to work very hard on the music of this film. But it’s too early right now because presently it’s only me, Ranbir and UTV who are part of this project. Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar is helping us a lot with this film. He is helping us with the research and keeps us updated about everything.”
Although we have to wait for a while before its release, this is already one noteworthy film to watch out for!
