Ranbir Kapoor has been hitting his mark ever since his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007. Now the actor is back in front of the camera in the highly, highly anticipated Love & War, which also features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Besides Love & War, the actor has also has Ramayana, which once again is eagerly anticipated, as well as Animal Park in the pipeline. Plus, yes Brahmāstra: Part 2 is coming! The actor, who says “I have been working very hard on the projects that I’m a part of,” is certainly on a roll… with roles.
His next biggest release is the Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic Ramayana, which arrives Diwali 2026 with Part 2 hitting the big screen Diwali 2027. The film sees Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Rocking Star Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Set 5,000 years ago and revered by 2.5 billion people worldwide, Ramayana is a two-part live-action cinematic universe being reimagined on the scale of the biggest projects ever produced in India. It also boasts a soundtrack by two of the greatest composers today, AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Honestly, is it November yet?
Nitesh Tiwari, director of the film, shares: “Ramayana is a story we’ve all grown up with. It carries the soul of our culture. Our aim was to honour that soul — and present it with the cinematic scale it truly deserves. As a filmmaker, it’s both a huge responsibility and a heartfelt honour to bring it to life. It’s a tale that has endured across millennia because it speaks to something deep and eternal within us. We are not simply making a film. We are offering a vision — one rooted in reverence, shaped by excellence, and made to transcend borders.”
As a note, Ranbir and Sunny Deol have just started filming for Part 2, so we will all have to wait and watch.
Another project fans are absolutely in a Bollytizzy to see is Love & War.
Earlier Ranbir revealed, “Love & War is every actor’s dream—to work with actors like Alia and Vicky and a master like Sanjay Leela Bhansali. To be on his set is tiring and long; the process can be a little daunting. Eventually, as an artist, it is so satisfying as he really nurtures art.”
The film, very much in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature style, is a period love triangle, but little else is known about it. According to multiple reports, the film is still in production, and a release date will be announced soon.
Ranbir said on InstagramLive, “Love & War has been such an amazing experience. Working with Bhansali again, who just blows my mind. A director who is just the best in the last four decades. It would be really special. My films take a long time. But I hope that when it releases, you forget all that time it has taken. I assure you that I am working really hard since the last 2-3 years. I have been working very hard. So I guess good things take time! You will get updates very soon.”
Also on Filmi fans’ list of movies they MUST see is Brahmāstra: Part 2. Ranbir has assured everyone that the film is still happening. He earlier said, “Brahmāstra: Part 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time; the entire story of Brahmāstra. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but we will have interesting announcements coming regarding Brahmāstra: Part 2, coming soon.”
The actor also has the sequel to Ranbir’s villain era, Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s Animal Park, set to go to the floor next year, plus many other exciting roles to come! We can’t wait.
