Ranbir Kapoor is certainly one hard working actor, he has several projects in the works including Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year and Rajneeti. Now he has signed on for a new film and he will be portraying not one character but two. The film, Mera Jahaan is being directed by Vikramjit Singh and will co-star real life love Deepika Padukone.
Singh explained about Ranbir’s dual role saying, “Ranbir plays two different characters from two different time periods — one character is based in the 1950s in India and abroad while the other is from 2009 and is based in India.”
Producer Sameer Rattonsey of Cinema Paradiso said that Ranbir plays both a young and old man, “Ranbir plays a double role and it’s interesting because he has various looks in the film — from a young guy to an old man, so there’s a full range of acting for him to go through. It’s not typical masala fare.”
The director added, “The story is that of a comic book writer who is lost in his world and his own perceptions of the world. That’s why it’s called Mera Jahaan or My World.”
