After many delays, My Name is Khan is just about to start pre-production with Ranbir Kapoor as a supporting character in the film. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in a lead role, and Kajol is supposed to be the female lead, but she has not accepted the assignment yet.

Ranbir will play a Jehadi in the film while Shah Rukh Khan will play a Muslim who gets wrongly detained on a flight because his last name is Khan and the authorities believe that makes him a terrorist. Talk about stereotypes!

The film is based on a real life experience of a couple that was wrongly detained; Karan Johar has bought rights to the story from them. The film is currently underway with Karan looking for shooting locations in Los Angles. Karan is also trying to rope in Akshay Kumar to be in the film.

The film is expected to start official production in October after Shah Rukh completes filming for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
