Ramayana without Lord Rama? Some such embarrassment was faced by the team of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana at the grand event launching the first look on 2 April of their ambitious project .
While the entire focus of the teaser trailer was on Ranbir’s Rama act, the actor was conspicuously absent from the event.
No explanation was offered at the event as to why ‘Lord Rama’ was absent from the Ramayana event.
Curiously, Ranbir was most prominently present at the Ramayana event earlier this week in Los Angeles.
So where was Ranbir while this momentous occasion in his career was being unveiled in Mumbai?
A close friend of the actor admits it made for negative press. “Ranbir is not well, though admittedly he could’ve still made an appearance, especially since he was in LA for Ramayana. By staying away he has confirmed the worst fear of the doubters: they think Ranbir is not sure of delivering the Rama effect.”
