After being thrown off his horse during a Polo match and sustaining a severe injury on his right ankle, it is now confirmed that Randeep Hooda will undergo a surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital this week.
“A steel plate will be screwed in to hold his ankle together and Randeep won’t be able to walk for six weeks,” informed his publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
The Bollywood actor was playing a Polo match at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai, when, while scoring a goal, his horse slipped. As Randeep hit the ground, the horse (weighing around 550 kg) fell on him, instantly breaking his ankle.
Just for the record, Randeep owns six horses, and is the only Bollywood actor who regularly participates in professional riding events. He’s even won awards at two equestrian events in Mumbai and Delhi respectively, where he participated along with riders from the Indian Army.
“Given his determination for riding and his passion for horses, the ankle operation won’t deter Randeep. In fact, he plans to get back to Polo and equestrian events as soon as he recovers,” said Bhagwagar.
In the next two months, Randeep will be seen in three films – Rang Rasiya, Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye and Love Khichdi. “He might attend the pre-release events of these films on crutches,” concluded his publicist.
