After his smashing premiering role in Band Bajaa Baaraat, Ranveer Singh is preparing for his second role that of the con man in Ladies Versus Ricky Bahl. The young star is a native Bombayite, but prepared rigorously for his role as a middle class Delhi kid in BBB. The Delhi colloquialisms and attitudes as Bittu Sharma stuck with him and now he has to get rid of Bittoo to play Ricky an all Indian character with no particular geographical accent.
For his role in BBB, Ranveer prepared intensely by riding Delhi buses and talking with local college students. In fact, that he became so entrenched as a Delhi boy is a compliment to his commitment to the character.
Ranveer has been working with director Maneesh Sharma in prep Ladies Versus Ricky Bahl, “I am having my workshops with my director Maneesh Sharma. I am working hard to get out of my ‘Bittu Sharma’ image, to get into the character for my new film.”
If this is how he performs in every role, Ranveer should have no problem adjusting to a different kind of character. He is only two films deep but from what we can see has a promising future ahead. Ladies Versus Ricky Bahl, which also stars Anushka Sharma goes to the floor next month!
