The Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Ravaana has now shifted location to Kolkata. Now that the filming is 70% complete, it’s becoming clear that this is very much a contemporary movie and only loosely connected with the ancient tale. “It is a film set in contemporary times and it is fascinating the way Mani Ratnam, the director, treats his concept,” said art director Samir Chanda. The film also stars Govinda, Vikram and Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan.
Aishwarya, who recently completed a tour promoting The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin spoke about skin-lightening products on the Tyra Banks show in the US. Criticising them, she said it was important for people to feel comfortable within their own skin. The comments echo the views of Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, who has suggested that companies should back their claims about the products with scientific evidence.
Aishwarya soon begins work on the new Vipul Shah production Action Reply with Akshay Kumar which starts to hit the floors next week. She is also working on Endhiran with Rajnikanth and is looking forward to Roland Joffe’s production Singularity and she may be involved in Abhi’s new thriller Crooked.
