Salman Khan fans rejoiced when they saw their beloved star bring back the masaledar cinema back with Wanted and Dabanng with both becoming huge successes for him, two years consecutively. Now the actor gears up for another hit with Ready. Like Wanted, which was a Hindi remake of a Tamil film, Ready is a new Hindi version of a film from the South film industries. This time it is a remake of the Telugu original by the same name, which starred Telugu actor Ram Pothineni and Genelia D’Souza.

So what’s so special about Ready? To start off it’s a change from the action flicks that has a comedy based family entertainer premise for the story that Sallu bhai has done recently. Then it also brings back the controversial Asin with Salman after London Dreams. But one the biggest factors is that this will be not the first nor the second but the third remake of the original Telugu film! After a roaring success run there, the story went to the Kannada industry, affectionately called Sandalwood, and tasted amazing success, with Puneet Rajkumar and Priyamani essaying lead roles. Then last year, the story went to Tamil but this time it took along lead lady Genelia as well to reprise her role and act with Rajnikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush Kasthuriraja, a success story on his own accord. The fact that this one story has been traveling around so much, we are sure that you are very curious so here’s the scoop on the synopsis.

Chandu is a carefree youth with a loving extended family that lives together. Quick witted and street smart, his friend enlists his help to get his friend’s girlfriend so that may elope and get married. Having already done this for his cousin and at present banished from the house, Chandu and his gang make the plan and pick up the girl. But it’s the wrong one. Instantly smitten by the beautiful Pooja, he also agrees to help her as she too is on the run from her Uncles.

What starts off as cat and mouse rivalry, becomes sweet romance, but just as Chandu and Pooja are about to express their feelings, Pooja’s Uncles find her and take her away. It’s now up to Chandu, along with his loving family, to find her and make his way in and convince her ruffian Uncles to let her come with him without the bloodshed they are accustomed to.

While the language and actors may have changed, in each version very little changed in essence. Yet it’s the kind of story that has appealed to varying audiences. A film that has the right amount of fun, frolic and family values, there’s only one question left to ask. Are you ready for Ready?

Ready is set to release right after the IPL on June 03, 2011.
